Hypnosis

Sadly, the portrayals of hypnosis in the entertainment and media industries have contributed to a severe misunderstanding of the true nature of hypnosis. Please review the following information that will help you understand the true nature of this amazing  resource!

ALL hypnosis is self-hypnosis.  A practitioner can induce a hypnotic state through relaxation imagery and deepening prompts but in this state the subject is still always in control of which suggestions they accept.  A person in hypnosis could never be made do something that contradicts their morals or desires.  No one has ever committed a crime as a result of hypnosis or revealed personal secrets that they had wished to keep.

There is no evidence that the subject is more susceptible to advertising or suggestion after the session has ended.

No one ever falls so deeply into hypnosis that they cannot come out.  If the subject refuses to emerge for whatever reason they will eventually fall into a regular sleep cycle and awaken naturally.

There is no relation between the capacity to be hypnotized and gullibility, education, or intelligence. To be hypnotized, people must be willing and active participants and the capacity follow clear simple instructions. Your session will be tailored to your sensory modalities and brain dominance as determined by simple intake procedures.

Hypnosis will not make very difficult things very easy (smoking cessation) but it will make them significantly easier. The subject will still need to put forth effort to realize the desired changes.

Hypnosis is extremely effective. One comparison of hypnosis to other modalities determined  that subjects experienced a 38% recovery after 600 sessions of psychoanalysis, a 72% recovery after 22 sessions of behavior therapy, and 93% recovery after just 6 sessions of Hypnotherapy.

HypnoBirthing

HypnoBirthing is an extremely effective method that guides and prepares a woman in giving birth in a peaceful and extraordinarily beautiful manner.  It is a program  that considers the psychological, as  well as the physical, well-being of the mother, her birth partner, and the newborn, independent of context, whether that be in the quiet of a home, a hospital, or a birth center.

The HypnoBirthing program is built around an educational process that includes special breathing, relaxation, visualization, meditative practice, attention to nutrition and positive body toning. Most importantly it fosters an air of mutual respect for the birthing family, as well as the health-care provider in a traditional health-care system or an alternative setting.

Class Specifics:

5 classes last approximately 2 ½ hours each. The cost of HypnoBirthing classes includes a book, audio tracks, and numerous handouts for essential home practice.

Class sizes are limited to 4 families per session.  This small class size promotes comfort, understanding, and well monitored hypnotic sessions.  In addition to small classes your instructor is available to answer questions about your techniques or practice between classes.

Hypnotic Sessions

Sessions are held in the office of The HypnoBirthing Studio on the corner or Parham Road and Patterson Avenue.

A three session approach is most commonly recommended but may vary  if prerequisite work needs to be done.  For example, when quitting or changing habits is desired a stress inventory needs to be completed to assess where to begin.

The first session includes intake, discussion, and a hypnotic session and typically lasts just over an hour.  Sessions after the first one typically last 40-50 minutes.

About

Joy Kraynak came to be a practitioner of hypnosis originally through HypnoBirthing.  In the summer of 2012 she attended HypnoBirthing training and became quickly obsessed with both the method and the philosophy of HypnoBirthing.  In the summer of 2017 she attended NATH hypnosis training so that she could attain the certification necessary to reach her goal of HypnoBirthing faculty.  Originally Joy did not plan to offer hypnosis outside of her birth work but through her training and practice she eventually changed her mind when she realized how simple yet effective it was to help people with hypnosis.

When you work with Joy she will take inventory of your learning style,  brain dominance, and specific goals to custom tailor a hypnotic session that is perfect for you.

Because her practice is heavily influenced by HypnoBirthing, Joy will often suggest ways incorporate visualization and affirmations into your progress,

If you have any questions she would be delighted to talk with you.  Please complete the contact form and include your phone number if you would like a phone consultation,
